DIN-RAIL Industrial Switch

What Is a Din-Rail Power Supply?

A DIN-RAIL power supply is a type of switch power supply that converts unstable input voltage into regulated output voltage. Compared to linear regulated power supplies (transformers), switch power supplies have significantly higher conversion efficiency, lighter weight, and more compact design.

The special feature of the DIN-RAIL power supply lies in its method of installation, which is also the origin of its name. The power supply connects to a standardized DIN rail, also known as a top hat rail. A DIN rail is a metal mounting rail with fixed standard dimensions. These dimensions were initially defined by the German Institute for Standardization (DIN). This type of installation has spread worldwide and has been adopted as European (EN) and international (IEC) standards. The term top hat rail (TS 35) derives from its U-shaped or hat-shaped profile. DIN rails are suitable for most industrial applications around the world. They have become standard components in electrical cabinets, distribution boxes, and machines. This mounting method offers an almost limitless choice of electrical components (power supplies, circuit breakers, relays, industrial PCs, etc.) that can be used.

What Are the Advantages of a Din-Rail Powe Supply?

    Reduce Operating Costs

With innovative switch design and high-quality components, Fibridge enables its DIN-RAIL power suppply to achieve a conversion efficiency of over 95%. High conversion efficiency (both in standby mode and under partial load conditions) leads to lower no-load losses, thereby reducing the overall system heat dissipation. On one hand, this saves energy costs, and on the other hand, you can also reduce the size of cooling devices in the application, thus saving additional costs.

    Easy Operation, Installation, And Commissioning

Fibridge DIN power supplies are very simple and can be set up quickly. The device only needs to be connected to the DIN rail and then wired to the mains and the load. Connection options (such as spring clamp terminals or plug-in terminals) allow for tool-free installation of the power supply within seconds. Then, the DIN-RAIL industria power supply is immediately ready to operate.

More Space in the Electrical Cabinet

The less heat the power supply generates, the more compact the device design can be. Thus, Fibridge DIN-rail power supply can be easily installed in constrained systems or small field control boxes. This increases possible packaging density and can reduce the overall system size.
